Savor the season with a festive Peppermint Mocha Whipped Coffee topped with whipped cream and crushed candy canes!
After enjoying our Pumpkin Spice Whipped Coffee recipe during the fall, we decided to make a Peppermint Mocha Whipped Coffee for winter! Every year my daughter awaits the arrival of the Ho Ho Mint Mocha from Caribou Coffee. This drink is a great way to make your own version of that specialty drink without having to leave your home.
Start by dissolving instant coffee in hot water. To make it dissolved even easier, I ground the instant coffee into a powder in my coffee grinder.
Next, add granulated sugar to the coffee in the bowl. You can add more or less sugar depending on how sweet you like you coffee drinks.
Whisk the mixture vigorously until it is light and airy and holds peaks like whipped cream. This can be with a whisk, a hand mixer, a stand mixer, or a frother.

Yes, you can swap out the dark chocolate with milk chocolate, semi-sweet chocolate or white chocolate. Keep in mind that with the sugar added to the coffee, the crushed candy canes and the peppermint syrup this peppermint mocha whipped coffee is pretty sweet.
Next, add the peppermint syrup (find my easy three ingredient peppermint syrup recipe here) and steamed milk. At this point, you can stir the drink if you want or leave it unstirred in order to better see the layers in the drink.
Spoon the whipped coffee on the top of the steamed milk.
Top the peppermint mocha whipped coffee with whipped cream and crushed candy canes. Add a red and white striped straw that can double as a stir stick.
