Candy Bar Pretzel Bites are easy to make with mini candy bars sandwiched between pretzels. They’re perfect for cookie exchanges or in a mason jar as a gift!
There are so many kinds of Christmas cookies to make and so little time! We love making ones that take a long time like frosted sugar cookie cut-out but we also love the quick, easy Christmas cookies like Pretzel Turtles and pretzels topped with Hershey’s Kisses.
After seeing some mini candy bars at the store, I decided to make another easy Christmas cookie this year: Candy Bar Pretzel Bites. They are pretzels stuffed with mini candy bars and dipped in a vanilla candy coating.
Line a baking sheet with a silicone mat or parchment paper. Top with as many rectangular pretzels as you have mini candy bars. I put down 30 pretzels.
Unwrap the mini candy bars. My bag had a mix of about 30 Snickers, 3 Musketeers, Milky Way, Milky Way Dark and Twix. I didn’t use the Twix bars.
Put the mini candy bars on the pretzels and warm in the oven at 300 degrees for about 3 minutes. If you are only making a few of these at a time, you could soften them in the microwave for a few second.
Top with more pretzels and press down gently.
Allow the chocolate to harden. Then, dip one side of the candy bar pretzel sandwich into melted white chocolate or vanilla candy coating. I used vanilla CandiQuik.
Return to the covered baking sheet and add red sprinkles.
Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside!
Put them in a dish to enjoy or in a mason jar to give as a gift!

Has anyone frozen the candy pretzel bites? Were they soggy after defrosting?
Carmen says
I have been freezing them for a few years now. Mother are not soggy when you take them out and leave them on the counter to thaw.
Stef says
How long do you think they will keep in a mason jar? I am planning to prepare these in advance to hand them out at Christmas time!
Tonia says
You don’t have the pretzels to get stale, so I would only make them a week in advance. Best of luck! ~Tonia

My son picked these out on Pinterest as one of his Christmas cookie choices this year. I loved that he could practically make them himself. They turned out absolutely delicious and have been a big hit with everyone who’s tried them. I’m super excited to feature your fabulous recipe with one photo for a collage in my Operation Christmas Cookie post at http://everystarisdifferent.blogspot.com. Thank you so much for sharing such a fun kid friendly recipe!

I had a problem with the melted white candy coating. Mine did not look as smooth as those in the picture. Basically, when I dipped the pretzel bites in it was very uneven in how it covered them. I was disappointed in how they looked because I was taking them to a party. They tasted good. What did I do wrong with the candy coating? I wanted them to look like yours.

Hi Jean,
What kind of candy coating did you use? I used CandiQuik for this blog post, that could be part of the difference. The warmer the chocolate is the thinner it gets so you could try letting it cool and thicken a bit before dipping. If you are still having issues, you could re-dip them so that they have two coats of white chocolate. That is what I do when I make white chocolate covered strawberries. Merry Christmas!

Possibly heated the chocolate on too hot temp. We heat in microwave on 50% heat… never high.

Hello Tonia, Simple & delicious. Thank you for such great a fabulous ideas. Making gifts is a great way to give a part of yourself in the gift. My past has been making chocolate goodies that are no bake. Peanut butter balls, Buckeyes, were the first I tried , my son being 3 years old at the time and I loved to bake and cook. That was my start and I’ve been baking , and people call me “Betty Crocker”.

Yum! I really wanna try this. But, can’t find pretzels here. Only pretzel sticks. I think I’ll try to make these with Ritz crackers instead. What do you think about that? 🙂
There are so many fun ingredients that you use, that can’t be found in Norway. So, I’m having fun trying to find good substitutes. 😉
Tonia says
Great idea, Sofia! I did that with mint patties before Christmas, but haven’t tried it with other candy bars… yet! http://www.thegunnysack.com/2013/11/peppermint-patty-stuffed-ritz-crackers.html
