What You’ll Need To Make This Recipe
- Cotton Candy: We use store-bought cotton candy, but you can make cotton candy at home if you have a cotton candy machine.
- Heavy Cream: The main ingredient is heavy cream, also known as heavy whipping cream, which makes the ice cream light, airy, and scoopable.
- Sweetened Condensed Milk: We used sweetened condensed milk to sweeten the ice cream, thicken it and keep it smooth.
- Flavoring: You’ll need a bottle of cotton candy flavoring for the most cotton candy flavor.
- Food Coloring: We used pink and blue food coloring to tint the ice cream.
How To Make Cotton Candy Ice Cream
Spread the cotton candy out on a cutting board and flatten it.
Then, chop the cotton candy into small pieces. Set a couple of tablespoons aside to use as a topping.
Beat the heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form.
Fold in the sweetened condensed milk and cotton candy flavoring.
Divide the mixture into two bowls. Add half of the cotton candy bits to each bowl.
Add pink food coloring to one bowl and blue to the other.
Stir until the color is evenly mixed in.
Add alternating spoonfuls of the pink mixture and blue mixture to a 9-inch loaf pan.
Top with the remaining cotton candy bits. Cover and freeze until firm.

I haven’t even tried this recipe yet but from all my years and experience with cooking I can already tell this recipe will be the best one for cotton candy ice cream!! Most don’t combine heavy whipping cream AND condensed milk. And I’ve yet to find one that added actual cotton candy. Thank you for this original recipe!
