Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Dip is the perfect appetizer! Everyone loves this cheesy, dippable version of buffalo chicken wings.
You can make this popular party appetizer in a crockpot and keep it warm for at parties and potlucks. There are lots of options for dippables and you can also use it as a spread on crackers, as a pizza topping, or on baked potatoes.
Tonia’s Notes
When working on our Slow Cooker Favorites cookbook, we needed another recipe to round out the appetizer section and finally settled on buffalo chicken dip.
There are so many delicious, cheesy dips that you could make, but we love the spiciness of this one, as well as the meat that is included in it. Plus, it isn’t only served with chips like some other dips.
How To Make
Put the chicken, cream cheese, buffalo sauce, mayonnaise, sour cream, powdered ranch dressing mix, and shredded cheese in a greased or lined slow cooker. Stir to combine the ingredients.
Add the cover and cook. Then, garnish with sliced green onions, if desired. You can leave it in the crockpot on the keep-warm setting and serve it directly from the slow cooker.
Or you can transfer it to a serving dish and place it in the center of a platter filled with dippables.
Make Ahead and Storage
You can prep slow cooker buffalo chicken dip the night before you plan to make it. After combining the ingredients in the crockpot insert, add the cover and store it in the fridge overnight. Then, cook as directed on the day of the party.
Transfer leftover buffalo chicken dip from the crockpot to an airtight container for storage. Store it in the fridge for 3-4 days or in the freezer for up to one month.
Serve the slow cooker buffalo chicken dip with Fritos Scoops, tortilla chips, crostini, celery sticks, and bell pepper sticks.
