Tonia’s Notes
We often have chicken for dinner, so I like to vary the seasonings and preparation method, as well as the sides. So, I came up with this delicious, creamy sauce for angel hair pasta that only takes minutes to prepare!
Now, this creamy pasta shows up on our menu often, and every time I make it, my family raves about it. The seasonings are simple, and I like that I can add more or less depending on what we want at the time.
How To Make
Angel Hair Pasta
Cook the angel hair pasta in a large pot with boiling water for 4-5 minutes. If you want to use thin spaghetti instead, cook it according to the instructions on the package. Drain and return to the pot.
Creamy Sauce With Herbs
While the pasta is cooking, start making the cream sauce in a saucepan. Melt the butter over medium-low and then whisk in the flour. Cook while whisking for 2 minutes. Slowly whisk in the water and half-n-half until smooth.
Cream Cheese and Seasonings
Add the cream cheese and seasonings. Stir until the cream cheese is melted, and then whisk until smooth.
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Pour the creamy herb sauce over the drained angel hair pasta and cook while stirring over low heat for 2-3 minutes. This allows the sauce to thicken and coat the pasta.
Recipe Tips
We typically double the recipe and don’t have any leftovers because we love creamy pasta so much! So, here are a few bonus tips for this recipe.
- Servings: This angel hair pasta recipe is a Pasta Roni copycat, so I only used eight ounces of pasta (half of a 16-ounce package) to make it. You can easily increase the serving size by making the whole box of pasta and doubling the sauce ingredients.
- Leftovers: Store the leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days.
- Freezer: You can store it in the freezer for 1-2 months.
- Reheat: Thaw frozen leftovers in the fridge overnight. Reheat creamy angel hair pasta in the microwave or a pot on the stovetop. You can add a little milk or half-n-half if necessary.
