How To Make Red White and Blue Puppy Chow

- Measure three cups of Rice Chex into a medium bowl.
- Put a portion of the white chocolate chips, creamy peanut butter, and butter in a microwave-safe bowl and heat it in the microwave until you can stir it smooth.
- Stir in the gel food coloring and vanilla extract.
- Pour the mixture over the cereal in the bowl and stir until it is coated.
- Transfer the cereal to a gallon-sized ziptop bag and add the powdered sugar. Seal the bag and shake until the cereal is coated with the sugar.
- Spread the puppy chow out on a parchment-lined baking sheet to cool.
- Repeat the process until you have red, white, and blue puppy chow on the baking sheet.
- Once it is cool, melt white chocolate chips and shortening in the microwave and drizzle it over the puppy chow.
- Top it with patriotic nonpareil sprinkles and silver star sprinkles.
