This easy Strawberry Nachos recipe with crispy cinnamon sugar tortilla chips, whipped cream, and strawberries is a delicious summer dessert!
Strawberry season is just around the corner and I’m seeing strawberry recipes everywhere! It’s making me so excited for summer. A couple of years ago, I saw a photo in a magazine for strawberry nachos at a strawberry festival in California and I’ve wanted to make them ever since.
Not only do the strawberry nachos look beautiful, but they are also good to eat. We like them even more than strawberry shortcakes!

How To Make Strawberry Nachos
Step One: Fry Flour Tortillas
Pour the olive oil in a frying pan and warm over medium heat. Fry the flour tortillas until they are golden brown. Use a spatula to flip them, making sure that you get both sides brown.
If you do not want to fry your tortillas, using cooking spray on each side of the tortilla to brown them is a lighter option.
Step Two: Sprinkle With Cinnamon Sugar
Place the fried tortilla on paper towels to absorb any excess oil. Cover the tortilla with cinnamon sugar by sprinkling it on each side. The paper towels also act as a trap for any stray cinnamon sugar.
Step Three: Cut The Cinnamon Chips
Slide the cinnamon tortillas onto a cutting board and slice them into triangles using a pizza cutter. Chop some of the triangles into small pieces to garnish the strawberry nachos.
Step Four: Simple Strawberry Sauce
Take several small strawberries and set aside for a garnish. Chop the remaining strawberries into small pieces and sprinkle with granulated sugar. Stir with a wooden spoon and then allow the strawberries to sit for about 10 minutes. This allows the sugar and strawberries to form a syrup. Stir again to combine.
Step Five: Assemble Strawberry Nachos
Arrange the cinnamon sugar tortilla chips inside a paper berry basket or paper boat. Spoon sugared strawberries on top, followed by scoops of whipped cream. Place the small whole strawberries on top and sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar tortilla bits as a finishing touch.
Make Ahead and Storage
- Make Ahead: You can fry the cinnamon chips, make the whipped cream, and prepare the strawberry sauce ahead of time. Keep them separate until you are ready to serve.
- Storage: Prepared strawberry nachos won’t store well. Instead, store the cinnamon chips in an airtight container at room temperature. Store the whipped cream and strawberry sauce in separate airtight containers in the fridge for 2-3 days.
