A Unicorn Spa Jar is for girly girls who love all things sparkly and colorful. Use it for a spa day or a girl’s birthday party.
This Unicorn Spa Jar is for the girly girls in your life who love all things sparkly and colorful. They can use the fun gift in a jar to have a spa day. These mason jars would be perfect for a girl’s birthday party!
I was planning to share this jar last week with the rest of the mason jar gifts, but I ended up getting sick and couldn’t share. But the Unicorn Spa Jar was so cute that I had to share it this week instead.
What You’ll Find In This Post
Unicorn Spa Jar Contents
Here are all of the things we added to these unicorn spa jars. You can add whatever colorful, sparkly items you want!
- Kerr Quart Mason Jar
- Two Twist Lollipops
- Glitter Hair Clips
- Rainbow Ice Gourmet Gum
- 4 Lip Smackers Lip Glosses
- 3 Unicorn Bath Bombs
- Unicorn Foot Soak
- Unicorn Sugar Scrub
- 8 Mini Unicorn Soaps
To prepare the Kerr quart size mason jar, spray paint the lid with metallic gold spray paint. Then, paint the bottom of the jar and up the sides about half an inch, on the inside of the jar, with Mod Podge and sprinkle with gold glitter.
Unicorn Bath Bombs
You can make unicorn bath bombs with a few simple supplies, sprinkles, and small metal bath bomb molds. Allow the bath bombs to dry completely before adding them to the jar.
If you don’t have the time to make your own unicorn bath bombs, you can them online or in a department store.
Sprinkles Foot Soak
This colorful foot soak is speckled with colorful sprinkles, and it smells like strawberries! Add it to a bucket of warm water and soak your feet until the water cools.
After adding the foot soak to a small container, you can add the sprinkles foot soak. Download the foot soak label, cut it out, and glue it to the container.
Rainbow Sugar Scrub
This colorful rainbow sugar scrub is so pretty, and it smells great too! You can make only a small amount to fit into one container or make a larger jar to use several times. The sugar scrub is the perfect thing to use after soaking your feet!
Once you transfer the scrub to a container, you can add the rainbow sugar scrub label. Download the label, print it out, and glue it to the container.
Sparkling Soap Gems
Make these sparkling soap gems with soap base, fragrance oil, colorant, and sprinkles. You can use these mini bars of soap in the bath or at the sink.
Assemble the Unicorn Spa Jar
Slowly add all of the items to the jar, rearranging them so that everything fits. This may take a bit of jostling and patience, but in the end, it looks so cute!
To add the hair clips without the packaging they came in, I cut a narrow strip of thin cardboard from a recycled package and attached the hair clips to it so that they would stay in a nice straight line.
Try to make all of the items visible through the jar so that the recipient can see what’s inside.
Finish off the mason jar gift by adding some gold star garland and a Unicorn Spa Jar label (download the free printable label here). The Unicorn Spa Jar looks so pretty, and it makes a wonderful gift.

Unicorn Foot Soak

Unicorn Sugar Scrub
- 3 tablespoons fractionated coconut oil
- 2 teaspoons sweet almond oil
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 6 drops strawberry fragrance oil
- Food coloring yellow, pink, and blue
- Small plastic containers
Unicorn Soap
- 4 cubes shea butter suspension soap base
- 4 drops strawberry fragrance oil
- Glitter pink, blue, yellow, and green
- Soap colorant pink, green, and blue
- Butterfly sprinkles
Instructions
Unicorn Bath Bombs
- Mix together the baking soda, citric acid, Epsom salt, cornstarch, and butterfly sprinkles.
- Melt the coconut oil in the microwave. Stir in fragrance oil and water. (The amount of water needed will depend on the humidity of your house.)
- Pour the coconut oil mixture over the dry ingredients and stir with a whisk. The mixture should start clumping on the whisk.
- Scoop up some of the mixture and squeeze it in your hand to see if a ball will form. If it does, the bath bomb mixture is ready. If not, spritz the mixture lightly with water, whisk, and check again. Continue spritzing and mixing until the mixture is slightly damp and will clump together. Again, this will vary depending on your climate.
- Divide the mixture into four bowls. Color the mixture in three of the bowls with a tiny dab of food coloring.
- Sprinkle some edible glitter stars in each of the two halves of the bath bomb mold.
- Spoon some of each color of the bath bomb mixture into each half of the mold and pack it in with your fingers. Add more of the bath bomb mixture, overfill it, and lightly pack with your fingers. Then, tightly press the two halves together.
- Carefully remove the mold from the bath bomb. Gently tap the mold if needed.
- Repeat until all of the mixture has been used. I was able to make three small bath bombs.
- Allow the bath bombs to dry uncovered. This will take a minimum of 24 hours.
Unicorn Foot Soak
- Mix together the baking soda, Epsom salt, and sprinkles.
- Stir in the fragrance oil and a tiny bit of red food coloring.
- Store in a small container.
- Glue on a foot soak label. Download the foot soak label here.
Unicorn Sugar Scrub
- Whisk together the coconut oil and sweet almond oil.
- Whisk in the sugar.
- Stir in the fragrance oil.
- Divide the mixture into four small bowls. Color three of the bowls yellow, pink, and blue with a tiny dab of food coloring, leaving the remaining bowl white.
- Scoop the four colors of sugar scrub into a small container.
- Glue on a sugar scrub label. Download the sugar scrub label here.
- Be careful when using because products containing oil can make the shower/tub slippery!
Unicorn Soap Gem
- Melt one cube of shea butter soap base in the microwave.
- Stir in a drop (or two) of fragrance oil, a little glitter, and one of the soap colors.
- Pour into the soap mold.
- Repeat with the other colors.
- For the last one, melt the shea butter soap, and add the fragrance oil and glitter. Pour into the soap mold and then add a few drops of soap colorant and swirl with a toothpick.
- Allow the soap to set, and then remove it from the molds.
- Use a torch lighter to melt the top of the soap and press butterfly sprinkles into the melted soap.

I have a question on the unicorn soap. how much is 4 cubes of soap base (•4 cubes shea butter suspension soap base).
Tonia says
The soap base that I used (you can see the package in the photo or follow the link to the product on Amazon) is in cubes in the package. I cut the cubes apart and used four of them. There are 32 cubes in the package and each cube is one ounce. So, I used 4 ounces of soap base.

Hi!
I have a question about the foot scrub. My daughters and I were making it but I’m not sure if we’ve done it right. Is it suppose to be dry, it just looks like pinkish powder With sprinkles lol. How much water would they need to add to use this scrub on their feet?
Thanks for the help and the cute idea!!
Tonia says
Fun! It sounds like you made the foot soak recipe which is powdered and is added to water to soak your feet. The foot scrub recipe is a mixture of coconut oil, almond oil, and sugar so it is oily with grit.
Ally says
Yes it is suppose to look like a powder (I guess)

My daughter and I have started the process of making these as party favors for her 11th birthday party in Dec. We are starting in advance since we have 11 to make! It is the first year that she will have a party separate from her twin brother and she thought a spa would be fun. Your jars are just perfect!

Fabulous! Happy birthday to your daughter and have fun!

This is such a cute idea! I included it and your spa in a jar gift idea in a blog post about teacher’s gift ideas. You can read it here: www.hunnyimhomediy.com/for-the-kids/20-diy-end-of-year-teacher-gifts/

I’d love to not give anyone a yeast infection with those bath bombs. Any cosmetic/bath sprinkles you would recommend instead?
Denise Warner says
There is a debate as to whether the tiny amount of sugar dissolved in an entire bathtub of water would result in a level of sugar that would cause a yeast infection. That said, you could try coloring epsom salts with a mixture of colored mica and 91% alcohol, then letting it dry before using. Make sure you purchase mica that says on the label “safe for lips.” You can get it from a soapmaker supply house online. Or try grating the colored soaps into tiny pieces. I have also just seen soap sprinkles for sale at Michael’s. Finally, you could use some of the bath bomb mix and color it different colors, then lightly toss it all together. Don’t mix well or you will end up with a mud color.
